Northern Europe Discovery Voyage
7 Day England + 7 Day cruise
London • England • Belgium • Norway • Denmark
July 11–24, 2027
I love these locations that we’ll explore and I know you’ll love them too!
We are going to experience some of the most consequential geography in human history.
Travel is most powerful when it deepens understanding. This journey combines one of the world’s great historic capitals, the landscapes of southern England, and a remarkable cruise through northern Europe’s cultural and maritime crossroads. Along the way we explore medieval cities, Viking heritage, royal capitals, and some of Europe’s most iconic historic sites.
The experience begins in London, where the story of Britain unfolds through Parliament, royal palaces, and the extraordinary collections of the British Museum. From there we journey west through the English countryside to Bath and the mysterious stones of Stonehenge before embarking on a voyage across the North Sea.
Our cruise then carries us to the medieval canals of Belgium, the fjords and cultural institutions of Norway, and the elegant royal cities of Denmark. Each destination reveals a different chapter of European civilization; from Viking explorers to medieval guilds, Renaissance trade networks, and modern Scandinavian culture.
This experience is more than a tour. It is an exploration of the ideas, places, and events that helped shape the modern world.
I’ve been able to secure over 50% discounts on every cabin!!

July 11 - Arrive in London England
Welcome to London. After arriving and settling into our hotel near Trafalgar Square, enjoy an orientation walk through the historic heart of the city. Visit Trafalgar Square or stroll through nearby Covent Garden, one of London’s most lively districts, filled with historic markets, street performers, and cafés; or catch a show at the West End (London’s version of Broadway).
July 12 - London
Today we explore the political and spiritual heart of Britain. We visit Westminster Abbey, coronation church of British monarchs since 1066 and burial place of many historic figures. Nearby stand the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. We continue to Buckingham Palace before visiting the Churchill War Rooms, the underground headquarters that guided Britain through World War II.
July 13 - London
Today we visit two of London’s most historic landmarks. We begin at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Sir Christopher Wren’s magnificent church rebuilt after the Great Fire of 1666. In the afternoon we explore the Tower of London, the medieval fortress founded by William the Conqueror, where we see the Crown Jewels and hear stories of kings, queens, and prisoners.
July 14 - London
We begin at the British Museum, one of the greatest museums in the world. Here we see the Rosetta Stone and extraordinary collections from Egypt and the ancient Near East. The afternoon is free to explore London: attend a Shakespeare performance at the Globe, stroll the West End, visit Chinatown, follow Harry Potter locations, or explore additional museums.
July 15 - Bath England
Today we travel to Bath, one of England’s most beautiful and historic cities. We visit the famous Roman Baths, among the best-preserved ancient spa complexes in Europe, and see Bath Abbey from the outside. As we explore, we also enjoy the city’s elegant Georgian architecture, whose graceful streets and honey-colored stone make Bath unforgettable.
July 16 - Stonehenge
Today we journey across southern England to Stonehenge, the world-famous prehistoric monument rising from Salisbury Plain. We then continue to Salisbury, where we see the magnificent cathedral and enjoy time in this historic medieval city. By evening we arrive in Southampton, the great port from which our cruise begins, ready for the next stage of the journey.
July 17 - Southampton
We embark from Southampton. The city served as the departure point of the Mayflower in 1620 and the Titanic in 1912. Be on the boat before 1:00 pm (not the Mayflower or the Titantic!). We begin our journey.
July 18 - Zeebrugge (for Bruges & Brussels), Belgium
Today we step into Belgium’s rich medieval heritage. From the port of Zeebrugge we travel to Bruges, a beautifully preserved city of canals, cobbled streets, and Gothic towers that feels unchanged since the Middle Ages. We also visit Brussels, Belgium’s capital, known for its ornate Grand Place, historic guild halls, renowned chocolates, and lively cafés.
July 19 - Day at Sea
A day at sea provides the perfect rhythm between destinations. It’s a chance to enjoy the ship itself; panoramic ocean views, relaxing decks, excellent dining, and time to reflect on the journey so far. Plus, join Taylor for fascinating presentations on the cultures and civilizations that contributed to this vibrant present.
July 20 - Oslo, Norway
Today we visit Oslo, a capital where dramatic Nordic landscapes meet modern Scandinavian design. The city sits at the head of the Oslofjord, surrounded by forested hills and sparkling water. We can explore museums preserving Viking heritage, admire the striking architecture of the Oslo Opera House, and stroll through Vigeland Park with its remarkable collection of expressive sculptures.
July 21 - Copenhagen, Denmark
Today we explore Copenhagen, one of Europe’s most charming capitals. The colorful harbor of Nyhavn, lined with historic sailing ships and pastel townhouses, is among the continent’s most recognizable waterfronts. We can visit royal palaces, walk through lively pedestrian streets, and experience Tivoli Gardens, one of the oldest and most beloved amusement parks in the world.
July 22 - Skagen, Denmark
Today we visit Skagen at the northern tip of Denmark, where the North Sea and Baltic Sea meet. Long sandy beaches stretch along the coast, and artists have gathered here for generations because of the region’s remarkable light. We will see the town’s distinctive yellow houses and peaceful harbor, giving Skagen a quiet charm far removed from larger cities.
July 23 - Day at Sea
Relax on board and join Taylor for fascinating presentations on the cultures and civilizations that contributed to this vibrant present.
