Daniel Winder was named after the LDS middle east tour guide Daniel Rona, who was an amazing home teacher while his family lived in Missouri. Daniel’s undergraduate studies included a semester at the BYU Jerusalem Center and in Egypt and included studies in Biblical Hebrew and Arabic. In his 25 years of teaching in the LDS Seminaries and Institutes system he has increased his understanding and appreciation of ancient near east religions and customs. He has been back to the middle east as well as led several LDS Church History tour groups. His institute teaching career has been spent teaching the gospel to some of the brightest minds at Harvard and MIT, BYU, and he currently teaches at the Utah Valley Institute. Dan has a PhD from USU in Instructional Psychology and Technology and Learning Sciences and he has conducted research for various Church Departments and published in several disciplines. He and Charolette Winder have 6 children. He enjoys innovation and entrepreneurial work, has created several apps, loves sports, a good book, food, and the outdoors. His tours are filled with humor and deep spiritual, historical, and cultural insights to the scriptures.
Dan is loads of fun to be around and will be sure to leave you inspired and with a deeper knowledge of the scriptures.
