A worked example for two travelers
Two people in a standard balcony cabin:
Fare, two people — $9,598
Gratuities, two people — $680
Transfers, two people — $160
Subtotal before flights and insurance — $10,438
Flights from the United States to Buenos Aires and back are the other large number. Airfare moves with the season and with how early you book. Get a quote before you set a budget.
How this compares to an expedition cruise
Expedition ships that land passengers in Antarctica commonly run around $12,000 per person. That is roughly three times the inside-cabin fare here for one person.
